Parents, guardians, and families are always welcome at the Alpha Parent Learning Center. Here, you will find educational, career, and wellness programs to help you thrive. The Parent Learning Center also promotes programs that benefit the larger East San José community.
Alpha Community Programs
Discover the range of programs available at Alpha that strive to enrich East San José through education, nourishment, and cultural exploration. From a monthly food bank to ESL classes and folklórico dance programs, we’re dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive community for all.
Once a month, we partner with Second Harvest of Silicon Valley to serve healthy and nutritious food to Alpha families and community members.

Over 18? Need to improve your computer or English skills? We provide English as a Second Language (ESL) and computer skills classes to parents, guardians, and community members over the age of 18. Our program helps you improve speaking, writing, and reading skills in the English language. We also ensure that you’ll learn content and language skills you need to excel at work.
Frequency: Weekly
Location: Via Zoom
Beginner Level: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 6pm – 9:30pm
Intermediate Level: Mondays & Wednesdays from 6pm – 9:30pm
We offer folklórico dance classes to Alpha students. In our classes, students learn about the rich and vibrant cultures of different regions of Mexico through the practice of folklórico dance. Our program uses the teaching of folklórico as a way to strengthen the confidence, self-esteem, and leadership of our students. Students from all cultures are welcome.
